How does our Letchworth-Perry Girls' Swimming and Diving Team celebrate its first win of the season? With a 6:00 AM practice of course! These student-athletes are dedicated.

The girls came out strong this season! They have been practicing so hard and last night was a great team win.
- Abby Rockcastle won the 200 free with a time of 2:26.29 and the 100 free with a time of 1:02.83, qualifying for sectionals in both events.
- Noelle Milhollen won the 50 free with a time of 30 seconds flat qualifying for sectionals. Noelle also won the 500 free with a time of 7:20.83.
- Lila Bailey swam a 30.95 in the 50 free and qualified for sectionals.
- The team also won the 200 free relay (Naiomi Yount, Ella Swyers, Isabella Snyder and Noelle Milhollen), and the 400 free relay (Elizabeth Wright, Abby Cummins, Lila Bailey, and Abby Rockcastle) to seal the win for the team.
- Abby Cummins took second in the 200 free, and 100 back.
- Liz Wright took second in the 100 Fly
- Ella Swyers took second in the 100 Breast.
Setting our students up for a successful school year includes reminding them of expectations. During their presentations in the Jr. High today, Principal Belkota and Assistant Principal Wyant also wanted to make sure students understand they have a support system here at PCS. #PrideInTheHive

Varsity Boys' Soccer
Perry 9, Lima Christian 0
The Perry varsity boys soccer team extended their record to 2-0 on Tuesday night defeating Lima Christian. Dom Hurlburt and Holden Kelly both had 4 goals a piece. Kelly also chipped in with 3 assists. Zac Narowski added a goal and Makai Miller contributed with one assist. The boys are now looking ahead to one of the first major challenges of the season this Thursday (9/7) when they travel to play a tough Dansville team.
There were very few tears, lots of hugs, and even more excitement as students walked through our doors this morning. Today was about getting back into routines, connecting with teachers and classmates, seeing old friends, and laying the groundwork for a successful school year. Procedures for Student Drop-off at the Elementary/Junior High School
Please:
- Get pictures and say your goodbyes at home.
- Pull all the way forward in the drop-off lane.
- Students should have all their items (Bags, instruments, sports equipment) with them prior to exiting the vehicle.
- Students should exit the right side of the vehicle directly onto the sidewalk. Practice exiting vehicles prior to the first day of school.
- Do not park in the drop-off lane. Parents/guardians who need to exit their vehicles for any reason during arrival should park in a designated space.
Drop-off will be expedited by adhering to the aforementioned procedures. District staff will be present to assist with arrival.

Perry opened their season at Wayland Cohocton with a strong three set win over the Eagles.
Senior outside hitter Jaelyn Morris had 6 aces, 9 kills, and 4 digs, while Kylee Baxter chipped in 9 aces, 3 kills, and 5 digs. Sophomore setter Nellie Koronas tallied 15 assists, 5 aces, and 1 kill.

The District's playground contractor installed the remaining gates, and safety signage/stickers. The swings have been lowered. The playground is officially open for business!
We ask individuals to stay off the restored landscaping to allow the grass to grow. Thank you for your patience. Enjoy the new playground!

The District received the following correspondence from the Deputy Secretary for Education Maria Fernandez:
"The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) provides all households in your district $30 a month assistance if they are enrolled in the Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program and/or the School Breakfast Program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)."
The District received notification this year that both its buildings qualify for the USDA's CEP which provides free meals (Breakfast and Lunch) for all students. The District will be providing its families with documentation in order to make application for the ACP. Please review District mailings for application information.
The District received approval from its site engineer to open the tennis/pickleball courts. The locks have been taken off the gates. Temporary signage has been installed (Permanent signage has been ordered and will be installed later). We will schedule a grand opening at a later date.
The courts are open for business (Already have players taking advantage of the facilities). Enjoy!
Over the last few weeks Ms. Rybak and Mrs. Kramell's enrichment class has been busy learning more life skills! During the class's financial literacy unit, local real estate agent Kelly Roche came in to teach the class about the home-buying/apartment-hunting process. Kelly even gave the students great tips about the importance of networking, and information on how to budget their money.
Students also took a couple of different field trips to McClurg's Chrysler to learn about the car-buying process, tour cars on the lot, and to even learn about basic car maintenance and upkeep. Lastly, students completed a unit on cooking and nutrition. The students worked together to create a "class cookbook" and then brought some of their recipes to life by taking a trip up to Perry Marketplace to shop for their ingredients and then returned to the school to actually cook their meals.
Even though Ms. Rybak and Mrs. Kramell are sad to see the summer class come to an end, they are hopeful that these students gained a wealth of skills and knowledge that will last them a lifetime. Students will end the summer by receiving a folder with all of the important information that was taught this summer. #PrideInTheHive
Day 1 of LPW JV and Varsity football practice is in the books. We wish all of our fall interscholastic athletics programs safe and successful seasons.
One step closer to completion...poles, nets and center straps were installed on the tennis/pickleball courts today.
The next step is to complete the wiring to the electrical boxes.
Signage has been ordered. Custom windscreens have been ordered. Bleachers have been constructed (Thank you PCS O & M crew). Trash bins have been installed. Benches will be installed when the protective padding (Ordered) arrives. Finish landscaping has been completed.
The finish line is in sight!

The District is upgrading its phone system. There are planned service interruptions while the contractor brings the new system on line. The first scheduled outage is Tuesday (8/15) beginning at 11:00 AM. Inbound and outbound calling may be down and/or limited for approximately one-half hour while the first phones are being installed.
The District will communicate updates as the project progresses.

The poured-in-place fall protection at the new playground was installed this weekend. The surface will now cure for several days.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout July, basketball players attended the Lowell Heiby Perry Basketball Camp. Instruction was led by coaches: Phil Wyant, Parker May, Jimmy Fahey, and several JV/Varsity boys and girls basketball players. Daryl Heiby has donated to the basketball programs in honor of Lowell Heiby every year since 1988. This year's donation helped support the Lowell Heiby camp along with summer leagues for the boys' and girls' basketball programs. We appreciate the Heiby family's generosity and support.
