Mrs. Lowery’s 8th grade business students started their own business, School Supply Depot. Students can buy pencils, erasers, folders, snacks and more. Prices range from 25 cents to a dollar. The store is open Mondays and Fridays during 2nd period in the JH technology/business classroom. Students are experimenting with marketing techniques, so we caught them in Mrs. Manchester’s classroom this morning pitching the business to 5th graders. #PrideInTheHive

This week, the WNY College Consortium visited PHS to give upperclassmen the opportunity to meet representatives from 17 area colleges and universities. The event allows students to learn about hundreds of degree programs, network, and explore career options. (Thanks to Mrs. Ellis for sharing the photos). #PrideInTheHive

Our unified bowling team and Coach Goodell held its first practice last night! We are grateful that through a NYSPHSAA grant and a partnership with the Perry Bowling Center, we can offer this opportunity to student-athletes this year. The team has four matches this season, with a culminating event in November. #PrideInTheHive

When we talk about making connections with our students, our teachers and staff are the best of the best. You won’t find a group more dedicated to their students’ success or more in-tune with their individual needs. Whether it’s in the classroom, walking through the hallways, or visiting The Autism Nature Trail like this morning, the passion and love these educators have for their students shines through. #PrideInTheHive

Even our very own Perry Yellowjacket got into the pie-throwing action during the pep rally, ultimately showering Mr. Shuskey with whipped cream! Friday was all about the Blue and Gold with lots of fun activities organized by Student Government and Stand Up Club, and culminating in a big LPW win in the evening. #PrideInTheHive #Homecoming2023

We're having a pretty awesome day here at PES. We're meeting volunteers from Perry and Perry Center Fire Departments, along with Perry Ambulance members, and learning how to stay safe during a fire or emergency. We even had the opportunity to hop into several of the fire trucks! A shoutout to our friend Emma in kindergarten for rockin' her favorite shades this morning while learning about fire trucks. #PrideInTheHive

This is one of those moments when Mrs. Belkota drops everything that she is doing. We were fortunate to welcome our newest Marine back home today. Congratulations Dakota Hinckley! We will continue to follow your rising star.
Best graduates, best administrators, best Marines, best team!

We caught Mr. Sporleder’s agriculture mechanics class hard at work this morning. Students started the school year by disassembling small engines and, after studying each component, are working to rebuild them. This is just one unit of study for the new course offering. The engine kits, workstations, and some tools were made possible through funding by The Foundation for Perry’s Educational Future, Inc. #PrideInTheHive

It's Homecoming at PCS and the Hive is being Revived! JH/SH students are tacky tourists today, while our elementary students are spreading positivity for Mental Health Matters Day. #PrideInTheHive #Homecoming2023

This is why our community is the best!
Thank to all of the volunteers who are making the Letchworth Arts and Craft Show and Sale a success. I want to personally thank the PCS students and staff who are assisting at the event.
Best students, best staff, best volunteers, best team!

On Tuesday, Oct. 10, the PCS girls' soccer program will celebrate its seniors with a "Pink Out" in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. The girls will be hosting a 50/50 raffle during the varsity game, with proceeds benefiting breast cancer research. We hope you can join us, wearing pink, to cheer on the JV team at 4:30, followed by Senior Night and the varsity game at 6:30 pm. #PrideInTheHive

Drama Club is gearing up for a successful school year! Mr. Marcks is hosting Workshop Wednesdays for any student or staff member that would like to come together for theatre games and improv training. The focus is building courage to perform in front of others, relaxing into the act of play, and supporting scene partners. #PrideInTheHive

Accompanied by her family, colleagues, and students, Jr./Sr. High Principal Rebecca Belkota was recognized this morning as an ATHENA Leadership Award finalist at the inaugural celebration hosted by the Livingston County Area Chamber at SUNY Geneseo.
The awards honor local women dedicated to community, professionalism, and leadership. The Chamber sought nominations last summer, seeking examples of professional leadership, community leadership, personal leadership or mentorship. Principal Belkota embodies all of that. We are grateful to have her at PCS and congratulate her on being named a finalist!
Congratulations to all the finalists, especially Ms. Helen Serefine for being named the ATHENA Award winner in Livingston County.

Sometimes, when you get the feeling, you just have to dance!
That’s exactly what Coach Weber and Coach Ohlson’s grades 4-6 Physical Education students did yesterday. Special guests Ruben Ornelas (Dancer/Choreographer), Alaina Olivieri (Dance Instructor), and Ted Canning (Percussionist), from the GLOW Creative Group through Go Art, helped students learn more about different dance patterns like extension, flexion, rotation, etc. This was all done to the beat of Mr. Canning’s drumming. Students had the opportunity to freely express themselves through a variety of movement patterns. The trio will be joining classes again in the future. (Thanks to Coach Weber for the photos)

It's difficult to not be impressed when you walk into Mrs. Emerson's High School Art Room. This afternoon, senior Lauren Holderer was working on this beautiful acrylic painting of a phoenix that she's completing for an independent art study. We have such talented students! #PrideInTheHive

It's about making that connection with our students. And if it can be done over a shared love of books...even better. #PrideInTheHive

We are family! That's exactly what Mrs. Borek wants her third graders to remember. This morning, she surprised her class with t-shirts displaying the message "We are family. I've got all my classmates and me." They regularly discuss the fact that as a class family they need to support one another. #PrideInTheHive #PCSDfamily

It was a big night for senior Abby Rockcastle as she was honored at the meet against Livonia. She won the 50 Free and 500 Free, qualifying for sectionals. With those two events, Abby has now qualified for sectionals in all individual events!
PCS/Letch suffered a 117-58 loss. Liz Wright won the 200 IM with a 7-second time drop and the 100 Fly. Ella Swyers placed second in the 100 Breaststroke. Autumn Mann dropped 6 seconds in the 200 IM for a new PR and Hunter Schroder dropped 3 seconds in the 100 free.
The team will celebrate Letchworth seniors, Lila Bailey and Hunter Schroder, on October 10 for the last home meet in Letchworth. #PrideInTheHive #ClassOf2024

While discussing the role of good leaders, Mrs. Huttar introduced her 8th grade agriculture students to a team building activity. The challenge was, within the allotted five minutes, to build the tallest free-standing structure with the provided materials, including one piece of duct tape and eight pieces of construction paper (and no scissors). After a couple stressful attempts, the class then debriefed as to what worked for each group, what challenges they faced, and if a member took on a leadership role. #PrideInTheHive
