Special Education

Welcome to the Special Education Office!

"Special education is not a place where children go for services, but services children receive in accordance with their Individualized Education Program (IEPs) in the least restrictive environment."

The Office of Special Education is responsible for the development, coordination and supervision of programming for students with disabilities.  We ensure that all eligible students with disabilities are provided a free appropriate public education (FAPE).  Perry also provides students with disabilities an education in the least restrictive environment (LRE) whereby students with disabilities are educated to the maximum extent appropriate with other students who do not have disabilities and within the Perry School District.

We recognize that each student is a unique individual and we strive to provide a program that supports each student in their educational pursuits. Perry offers a variety of services and programs to meet the individual needs of all students. We believe in collaborating with our parents to help each child be successful.

Please feel free to contact Daniel Schuler Email, Director of Special Education, at 237-0270 x1122 if you have any questions or suspect your child may have a disability.
