Weather: Hot & muggy, with temperatures reaching the upper 80's
General Roofing
- Six roofers on site today
-Work continued on the Jr. High wing. New ISO, Dens deck and EPDm was installed
- Contractor confirmed the use of stainless steel fasteners for their perimeter edge blocking. All blocking that was previously installed will receive additional fasteners
- Contractor indicated that additional roofers will be on site next week to speed up the installation.
- After the Jr. High wing the gym roof is scheduled next.
Highland Masonry
- Four masons were on site today
- Work continued on the new thru-wall flashing on the Aud. wall
- Additional sealant was installed throughout the Elem. that requires repair or completion. They feel they will be complete by tomorrow with Elem sealant
- The new window sills for the Elem are in production. Highland will provide an estimated of sills that require replacement as a result of their work around the facility
Willett Builders
- Material is on order for the project and should start arriving next week.
- They are still on schedule to start the first week of October with the evacuation of refrigerant from both condensing units.
September 26, 2017
Weather: Extremely warm and humid with temperatures reaching 88 degrees, no breeze
General Roofing
- Six roofers on site
- Progress continued on the Jr. High wing. 2400 sq. ft. of new ISO, densdeck, and EPDM was installed on the center of the roof.
- Discussed the next location of roof to address considering Highland Masonry will be completed with the brick work on Wednesday.
Highland Masonry
- Five masons on site today
- The brick work and flashing installation on the Aud. wall continued. They should complete their work by tomorrow.
- Sealant was installed on several vertical joints around the locker rooms and gym wall.
- The 2nd floor classroom windows were completed with sealant.
- Plans to move to the HS were briefly discussed at the end of their shift.
September 27, 2017
Weather: Hot and humid with a slight breeze. Temperatures reaching 89 degrees by the afternoon.
General Roofing
-Six roofers on site today
- Another 2000+ sq. ft. of roofing was completed over the Jr. High wing
- The roofers will continue on the teachers lounge/nurses roof next week considering the Highland will be completed with the Aud brick work today.
- The stainless steel fasteners were reviewed that are required to be installed in the permitter edge blocking. The first set of perimeter edge blocking was installed facing the playground.
- The stainless steel screws are easily identified after installation considering the galvanized fasteners were nails.
Highland Masonry
- Five masons were on site
- Work started on the HS second floor above the pool windows. Two courses of brick are to be removed and replaced due to vapor pressure from pool air moisture in the past.
- Sealant was replaced around the glass block to the HS mechanical room on the second floor.
- Sealant was removed around the HS classrooms adjacent to the maintenance shop.
- Vertical joints around the HS boiler room were removed.
September 28, 2017
Weather: Considerably cooler temperatures reaching the mid 70's
General Roofing
- Six roofers on site today
- The last section of roofing over the Jr. High classrooms will be installed today.
- Discussion on cleaning out the gravel parking lot of material, dumpster and equipment in preparation for the student body bonfire this weekend occurred.
- Arrangements on delivering the check for pay application 1 & 2 was arranged with General Roofing management
Highland Masonry
- Five masons on site today
- Work continued on the pool window brick replacement at the HS.
- Vertical joints on the HS gym walls continued
- Arrangements to permit the masons to replace brick at the HS front entrance and district office corridor entrance was discussed with main office staff and admin.
September 29, 2017
Weather: Cooler temperatures in the low 70's with rain in the afternoon
General Roofing
- Six roofers on site
- Roofers plan on working half a day due to afternoon rain scheduled.
- Finish work around the existing roof penetrations (exhaust fans, vent pipes, etc)
- Garbage removed from the roof
- Additional stainless steel fasteners installed along the perimeter edge blocking
- Excess material, dumpster, and lumber removed from gravel lot in preparation fro Homecoming bonfire.
Highland Masonry
- Five masons on site
- Work continued on the vertical and window joints along the non-student areas in the HS.
- The masons agreed to perform the majority of the grinding on the 1st and 2nd floor classrooms on Oct. 6th and 9th when students are not in the facility. They feel confident the majority of the grinding can be completed at that time.
