Weather: Sunny with temperatures in the upper 70's, slight breeze

- Action roofing is completing detail work along the music wing roof.  The final pieces of flashing are being installed along the stage and auditorium walls to provide a water tight system.  A bead of caulk is being installed along the upper piece horizontal flashing.

- The perimeter edge metal is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.  Action Roofing will plan to start installing the metal towards the end of this week or the beginning of next week.

- Preparations have started for the pool unit deliveries.  Tractor trailers will start arriving equipped with the supplies for the new unit.

- The crane will be delivered tomorrow afternoon to initially be set in place to expedite the removal of the old PoolPak and install the new unit.

September 10, 2013

Weather:  Partial sunshine with an overcast, temperatures in the low 70's

- Action Roofing continued their work on flashing the roof penetrations.  There were only two roofers on site working.

- Cogenic started dropping off the counter weights and material needed for pool unit lift.  A total of four tractor trailers were placed in the gravel parking lot adjacent to the softball field.

- Crane arrived at the end of the day.  Stabilizer legs were retracted and the preventative maintenance checks were performed for Wednesday's lift.

- The final preparations to the old PoolPak were made to expedite the removal of the unit.  

- The pool is continuing to be drained with a submersible pump.  The soaker hose was installed along the pool perimeter to keep the pool liner moist.

- An email was sent to the HS faculty and staff alerting them to the fact that the PoolPak was to be removed at approximately 9:00am.  The new unit will be placed at approximately 1:00pm.  The corridors and classrooms directly below the crane swing range was cleared out during these times.

Weather: Sunny day with temperatures in the mid 70's with a slight breeze

- Action Roofing only has two roofers on site to perform flashing around the HS facility.  New flashing is being installed in the reglet along the vertical EPDM on the walls.  Once completely installed, a bead of  caulk is placed along the metal to complete the seal tight system.

- Cogenic and the crane sub-contractor is on site preparing for the removal of the PoolPak.  The HS faculty and staff were cleared of the crane swing range at 9:00am. 

- The PoolPak was lifted by the crane and placed on a flat bed.  The unit was removed from the district as soon as it was secured.  Preparations were made with the existing utilities to accommodate the pool unit.

- The new unit was placed on the roof and immediately secured.  Minimal modifications were necessary to ensure the new pool unit was secured in place.  The contractor immediately started connecting the miscellaneous hoods, doors, and panels on the unit.  The new electrical breaker was installed in the boiler room electrical panel.  The unit was started briefly to ensure the motors and squirrel cages were operating and spinning properly.

- The controls contractor plans on being on site next week to start the wiring to the pool units VFD's and the pool units control panel.  Training is scheduled for September 23rd for the maintenance staff.

Weather: Cooler temperatures in the upper 60's

- Action Roofing was briefly on site to install additional flashing around roof penetrations.

- Cogenic was on site to terminate the condensate line to the new pool unit.  The existing piping was removed from the old PoolPak unit.

September 13, 2013

Weather: Rain early on with mild wind, temperatures in the mid 60's

- Action Roofing was not on site working

- Cogenic was not on site working

- A Phase I capital project review meeting occurred at the district office conference room at 2:00pm.  The work completed since the last meeting was discussed between the two contractors.  A lengthy discussion occurred regarding the remaining work on the pool unit and the last section of EPDM to be removed.  A time line was agreed upon by everyone that will permit the pool to open well before the deadline the aquatic instructor requested at the beginning of the capital project.
