September 28
New bus drop off implemented effective this morning. Specific areas are roped off to provide visual references for students, faculty, and parents.
Massa Const.
- Installed construction fencing around bus loop perimeter
- Equipment arrived in A.M. to start bus loop demolition
- Front entrance and bus loop entrance blocked off, card readers were disabled
- Concrete removal started under the front entrance awning
- Coordinated demolition schedule for remainder of bus loop over the next week.
- Elem auditorium curtain submittal was approved.
September 29
- Remaining front entrance concrete was removed to Elem bus loop
- Discussion on leaving sidewalk to cafeteria entrance was discussed.
- Concrete prior to parking lot handicap ramp may be left considering the integrity of this location.
- Architect was contacted on potential change. He will arrive tomorrow to discuss details on potential change order.
- Portion of bus loop sidewalk toward Olin Ave. was removed.
September 30
- Architect arrived to discuss sidewalk changes at Elem. Plan is to leave sidewalk leading to cafeteria entrance and approximately 20' of existing sidewalk leading to parking lot. MASSA will estimate credit for this work.
- I raised concern on the 4" of concrete the architect called for on new sidewalk. Considering snow removal equipment driving across this throughout the winter may damage walks. Discussion on increasing thickness to 5".
- MASSA Const will provide pricing to increase sidewalk thickness from 4" to 5". Credit will be provided for areas listed above.
- Sidewalk from bike rack to front entrance was completely removed.
- Remaining sidewalk toward parking lot was jack hammered.
- Asphalt along bus loop curb was saw cut. Portions of the curb were removed today.
October 1
- Remainder of bus loop curb was removed from site.
- The last of the sidewalk was removed.
- Crusher run was inserted along the Elem front entrance and tamped. The base will be minimum of 6" of crusher run.
- MASSA replaced damage pvc pipe utilized as drain lines for front entrance gutters.
- Flag pole at Elem front entrance was removed in preparation to be relocated in the middle of the bus loop. Location of the new flag pole was identified. MASSA will remove all pavers in the center of bus loop.
- Discussion on relandscaping the front yard after removing the curbs and soil in this location. The landscaping will be tapered toward the sidewalk once finished.
October 2
- MASSA Const continued installing crusher run in areas sidewalk was removed.
- Testing agency for concrete and sub grade testing will be SJB.
- Paper work on sidewalk change order was submitted to MASSA Const. for pricing.
- MASSA Const. requested a compaction test for subgrade on Tuesday of next week.
- Concerns with concrete pour date were discussed due to hurricane hitting the east coast. A new date will be provided on Monday.
- Roller arrived today to provided final compaction of sidewalk subgrade.
