Sept. 1 - Sept. 7
September 3, 2013
Weather: Cool temperatures in the low 70's with a slight breeze.
- Cogenic is on site evacuating the refrigerant from the condensing unit to the de-energized PoolPak.
- The condensate lines are disconnected as well as the controls for the PoolPak refrigeration cabinet.
- Action Roofing is competing the last section of roofing over the maintenance wing. The perimeter edge blocking is installed with the tapered insulation for this section.
- Action Roofing performed a small amount of detail work around the roof penetrations over the maintenance wing
September 4, 2013
Weather: Rain in the forecast with temperatures in the low 70's
- Action Roofing performed detail work around the duct work curbing over the maintenance wing due to the elements. Flashing around the curb and circle patches were installed over all roof penetration seams to provide the 30-year warranty.
- Cogenic LLC performed demolition work internally to the PoolPak. Keith utilized the districts manlift to remove a portion of the two pool water lines previously used for the old PoolPak unit. The were able to remove the immediate lines tied into the PoolPak directly below the roof line as well as the elbows and lines to the outside wall to the pool area. The straight section of pipe adjacent to the lighting and duct work is not reachable at this point. A discussion will occur on potentially leaving the straight section of piping in place and just cap off each pipe in place due to safety concerns in attempting to remove the pipe. The straight sections of pipe are not visible from the ground floor and will not cause issues with the new pool unit.
September 5, 2013
Weather: Warmer temperatures in the upper 70's, a cool breeze, sunny for the majority of the day.
- Cogenic is not on site today
- Action Roofing continued their work on the maintenance wing detail work. Their plan is to finish off this wing completely and continue towards the district office over the next few days.
- Action Roofing looked at a damaged skylight over the boys locker room. It looks as if a baseball may have landed on the skylight puncturing a hole through the outside lens. Water has infiltrated the interior lens creating a small leak in the locker room. Considering the credits the district has accumulated over the roof project, Action Roofing will pay for a new skylight and replace the defective unit at no cost to the district.
- Three puncture marks on the EPDM membrane over the locker room were found adjacent to the damaged skylight. Action Roofing agreed to repair these areas while on site.
September 6, 2013
Weather: Sunny with clear skies with temperatures cooler in the morning slowly warming to the mid 70's.
- Cogenic is not on site today.
- M/E Engineering sent pictures of the new pool unit. The final preparations are being made for shipment which will start next week.
- A trap scheduled to be installed within the pool unit was removed as the part of the original design. Concerns with the amount of penetrations within the pool unit to accommodate the trap became a concern. The drip pan directly below the heating coils will stay in place to collect any glycol that may potentially leak over time.
