Masci

Matt Masci

DIRECTOR OF SAFETY & SECURITY

Matt Masci was born and raised in Alden, NY, a small rural town he relates to being very similar to Perry. Even as a student at Alden High School, Masci was always involved in planning and executing special events held in the District. While in College, he would also go on to work as a Technology Integrator at ACS assisting educators with delivering enhanced lessons designed to reflect 21st Century Learning skills while also running an in-house Cable Access TV Studio in conjunction with the Multimedia Production program. He advised several clubs and classes including being the Theatre program Advisor and Director from 2011-2020. Masci has also worked seasonally at Six Flags Darien Lake since 2008 in roles ranging from Training Supervisor, Safety Supervisor, and more.

In 2019, Masci began his career in Law Enforcement attending the 31st Rural Police Training Academy part time, while maintaining full time employment. Masci was hired by the Perry Police Department in 2019 and served as the Perry Central School District's full-time contracted School Resource Officer until November 2023. Now, while working as the Director of Safety & Security at PCS, Officer Masci maintains employment as a Police Officer at the Mount Morris Police Department and enjoys being able to make connections and experience the best of both careers. He remains passionate about School Safety and Security and serves PCS as the Chief Emergency Officer and Safety Committee Chairperson.

Spink

David Spink

School Resource Officer

David Spink was born and raised in Perry and attended Perry Central School through his sophomore year, where he would have been part of the Class of 2011. He is proud to return to Perry Central in a new role, serving as the School Resource Officer (SRO).

Officer Spink began his law enforcement career in 2017 with the Perry Police Department and completed a wide range of specialized training to support student safety and community engagement. His certifications include Field Training Officer (2019), Car Seat Technician (2022) School Resource Officer (2022), Crisis Intervention Training (2023), Drug Recognition Expert (2024), and Active Shooter Response Training through the ALERRT program (2024). Officer Spink is a patrolman with the Perry Police Department, Warsaw Police Department, and a seasonal Deputy in the summer with the Genesee County Sheriffs Department.

Prior to joining Perry Central full-time, Officer Spink served as a substitute SRO for both Perry and Warsaw Central Schools, and most recently worked as the Elementary SRO at Warsaw Elementary during the 2024–2025 school year.

In addition to his law enforcement role, Officer Spink is a dedicated volunteer firefighter and currently serves as Chief of the Perry Fire Department. His fire service training includes Incident Command courses, Fire Officer I & II, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Vehicle Extrication, Exterior and Interior Firefighting, Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC), Pump Operator Course, and Ice Water Rescue Technician certification.

Officer Spink lives on Silver Lake with his wife, Natalie, and their two daughters, McKenzie and Grace. Together, they enjoy camping, boating, golfing, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills. He is committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment where students and staff can thrive.

K9 Sunny

Police Investigative Therapy Dog

Sunny is a Yellow Labrador Retriever and is assigned as Masci's partner. Sunny was born and raised in Cocoa, Florida. He was rescued by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office after suffering an injury to his left hindleg. There, he was taken in and trained by the Paws & Stripes College. Soon after, he was paired with his handler, Officer Masci. The pair successfully completed their national certifications in Brevard County. Sunny has worked with Masci at PCS since 2021. In this unique partnership, Sunny is utilized in situations that require de-escalation, crisis intervention, emotional support, or simply to be a calming presence in the halls or learning environments.
