October 5

- During morning walk through, several soft spots in the stone sub grade were found.  Excavation discovered the soil below the stone base was saturated causing the sub grade to move.  The soft soil was removed and crusher run was installed to shore up the trouble spots.  Several locations will contain over 12" of stone base.

- The asphalt saw cut last week was removed.  A trench was excavated to accommodate the 12" stone base necessary for the new curb installation.

- The remainder of the stone base was rolled in preparation for the testing agency tomorrow.

- The tentative date for the first concrete pour is set for Wednesday.

- The two HS storm drains will be replaced on Friday.

- Discussions on the drain tile installation behind the HS gym took place.  Faculty and staff will be alerted to stay clear when this work takes place.

- The stone base was laser shot ensuring the proper run off is in place (1/4" per foot).  The existing grade slightly exceeds the specifications.

October 6

- Several more soft spots in the Elem. sidewalk subgrade were discovered.  Excavation took place in these locations.  Additional 12" of stone inserted to firm up the base. 

- Massa Const. is down to two personnel on site.

- Contacted Massa office about removing the piles of concrete sidewalk located in the parking lot across from the softball field.  Massa Plans on having trucks available on Thursday to move the material off site.

October 7

- Two Massa employees on site.

- Two additional soft spots in the stone subgrade were found for the sidewalk base.  Had contractor remove material and remove saturated soil.  Both locations were backfilled with additional stone. 

- The Elem main entrance and sidewalk leading to the parking lot were laser shot to ensure proper pitch is available.

- Relcomm is on site to start switching the phone hardware out.  Their work started within the Elem. phone room.

- Updated the Elem map with proper phone extensions so Relcomm technicians can reprogram the new extensions quicker.

- Capital Project progress meeting took place.  Billitier Elect. has the solar panel and light that will be outfitted on the Elem flag pole relocation.  Once Massa Const. installs flag pole in the bus loop they will install light and solar panel.

- Billitier Elect. will wait on HS kitchen electrical work until the new serving line arrives.

- District changed the HS serving line pushing the delivery date to the 1st week of December.  Possible install date may occur over the Christmas holidays.

- Billitier Elect. visited the Elem. Technology classroom to create a parts list for work.  The bus bar change over will take place on October 9th.  They anticipate all work will be completed by the end of the day.

- Massa Const. plans on replacing the storm drains outside the HS science wing on October 9th.  The access road from the HS front entrance to the maintenance parking lot will be closed off due to construction equipment in this area.

October 8

- Massa Const. focused on removing the remnants of the Elem. concrete sidewalk from the stone parking lot adjacent to the softball field in preparation for the Homecoming fire this evening.  Three trucks were on site hauling material off site permanently.

October 9

- Hard rain prevented the storm drain replacement work.  Work is scheduled for Monday.

- The remaining concrete and soil left in the stone parking lot across from the softball diamond was removed.  Massa Const. left early due to weather.
