November 2

- Massa cancelled the concrete pour for tomorrow at the HS.  Pour was rescheduled for Nov. 4th.

- SJB was cancelled for Tuesday's pour and rescheduled for Wednesday

- Massa started tearing out the HS sidewalk along the science wing.

- Cogenic installed the new HS pool chlorinator.  The work was completed in approximately 2-hours.

- Relcomm was contacted regarding the remaining punchlist items on the phone system upgrade.  They plan on returning to the district this Friday to complete the remaining issues.

November 3

- Walked with Massa to determine what HS concrete pads were to be removed per the bid drawings.  The HS front entrance handicap ramp was slightly revised to conform with the existing sidewalk flow.  The curbs will be removed at the handicap ramp permitting tapered concrete to be flush with the asphalt. 

- Four concrete pads at the HS front entrance "Fire Zone" will be removed due to severe cracking.  This work should be completed this week.

- During the HS sidewalk demolition along the HS science wing the concrete thickness was found to drastically vary from 10" to 2-1/2" within a matter of a few feet.  No rebar was present within the concrete.

- The HS front entrance handicap ramp removed was found to have wire mesh at the base of the concrete.  The installing contractor never pulled the mesh up during the pour.

- Contractor arrived on site to pre-measure the Elem stage curtains.  Once the order is submitted they anticipate delivery to take place between 8 - 10 weeks.

- Massa removed the remaining concrete along the HS science wing.  Stone base was installed at each location.

November 4

Sunny with temperatures reaching 73 degrees.  Evening temperatures reached 45 degrees

- Massa started tamping the stone base along the HS science wing.

- Concrete was poured to HS sidewalk from Watkins Ave. to the digital marquee.

- New handicap ramp was poured adjacent to the HS digital marquee eliminating the curbing that existed previously.

- Concrete was poured to sidewalk outside the HS science wing.  A new handicap ramp was installed to the Guidance office entrance.

- SJB testing was on site.  The slump, moisture, and temperature test all passed.  Three cylinders were taken for compression tests at a later date.

- Concrete work was completed around 5:30pm.

- Capital Project progress meeting occurred.  Work over the next week includes:

      Massa

      - The drain tile will be trenched in next Monday and Tuesday behind the HS gym.

     - Asphalt will be installed to area behind the HS gym and access road outside the HS science wing where the new storm drains were installed.

     - Massa plans to install topsoil this week along the recently installed sidewalks along with grass seed and straw.

     - The stage curtain contractor took measurements of the Elem auditorium.  They plan to have the product on site between 8 - 10 weeks. 

     - I met with the Terrazzo contractor to discus repair work to the HS corridors.  The vendor offered several repair options which he will provide pricing to reflect the district needs.

     - The HS science doors and stairwell work is scheduled over the Thanksgiving break.  The stair tread to be used  was picked out during the meeting.

     - Massa believes their site work will be completed by next Friday, November 13th.

     Billitier

     - A change order for the additional work in the Elem Tech. room was discussed during the meeting.  A disconnect was added to the band saw to increase the level of safety at the unit.  Also, the spindle sander required additional electric to accommodate the classroom teachers needs.  Finally, a 30 amp feed was removed from the breaker panel at the request of the Tech. teacher.

     - Contractor plans to install the 3 new HS parking lot fixtures and Elem flag pole light next week.  The pool chlorinator GFI will be installed at that time as well.

     Cogenic

     - The new pool chlorinator is installed and working properly.

     - The HS boiler room actuators and controls for the air intake are installed.  The electrician is scheduled for tomorrow to complete the work.

November 5

- Massa installed topsoil, grass seed, and straw along concrete sidewalk to the HS front entrance.

- Topsoil was installed around the new storm drain tiles outside the Guidance office entrance.

- The electricians were on site to wire the new HS boiler room actuators.

- Temporary barricades at the HS front entrance were removed.

- Pay applications for Massa and Billitier were reviewed versus their base bid work.  Both applications were approved and sent to Laura Feldman for processing.
