May 19 - May 25

- Meeting with John Stanley (BOCES), Justin Allen, Dr. Stavisky, Craig Woodworth, and Laura Feldman regarding the infrastructure necessary to run future IP cameras as well as increasing our capacity for online testing within the next few years. John discussed possible switch upgrades, the pro's and con'f of 1GB switches versus a 10GB switch. BOCES is requesting that the proposed IP camera specifications be provided by M/E Engineering. This will determine the type of POE switches and length of cabling permitted with the cameras recommended by M/E Engineering.
- A brief discussion occurred on whether the district should pursue desktop's with monitor's versus a laptop for future testing. John Stanley provided insight that the desk top is more reliable in a large capacity testing environment. Multiple laptops using wi-fi band width could slow the network down to the point where the network functionality may come into question.
- A conference call occurred immediately after the meeting with John Stanley requesting the camera specifications, budget allocation for the proposed camera upgrade and POE switches currently in the capital project line item. Kirk Edwards (Clark-Patterson-Lee) will notify Dave Walters and Bill Santos of the necessary information needed to move forward with the infrastructure upgrade to the districts predicted needs in the future. There are concerns that the budget line item for cameras may not be enough to implement all the necessary changes to accomodate both cameras and the infrastructure upgrade discussed.
-Capital project phase 1 kick off meeting with Action Roofing and Cogenic LLC is scheduled for May 28, 2013 at 1:00pm.
