June 30 - July 6

July 1, 2013

Weather: Overcast and rainy with temperatures reaching 74 degrees.

- No roofers due to rain

- Mason's were on site completing minor cleaning of the brick and removing tools from site considering the majority of their overhead work is complete.

- Email sent to Clark-Patterson-Lee inquiring into the architectural inspection under specification 075323.3.3.B stating that existing and new wood nailers have been properly and securely installed per FM 1-49.  Clark-Patterson-Lee is content with the work Action roofing is providing the district in relation to this specification.

- Morris Masonry Restoration provided a quote regarding the additional work necessary for the existing brick window infills to the pool.  Clark-Patterson-Lee advised on removing the existing insulation board located behind the exterior brick.  They feel this may be the reason why moisture is accumulating behind the wall causing the brick face to spall.  A alternate quote to remove three courses of brick, install thru-wall flashing above the lintels and reinstall brick was provided.  This scope of work is the cheaper route.  Clark-Patterson-Lee is reviewing the document and will advise on what option to pursue.

- A call was placed with Cogenic mechanical regarding the status of the new pool unit since the submittal was approved by M/E Engineering.  A estimated time line for units completion, installation schedule, and approximate time to complete work was requested.

July 2, 2013

Weather: Over cast with temperatures around 80 degrees.  Rain started later in the afternoon.

- No Mason's on site today.  They are awaiting Clark-Patterson-Lee to determine the scope of work for the window cut outs

- Roofers worked on flashing to the roof penetrations (exhaust fans, vent pipes, etc).

- No new roofing can be installed due to potential rain and potential scope change on window cutouts for the masons.

- Discussions with Action Roofing occurred in reference to the pool roof.  Mike Jackson proposed leaving the original layer of ISO in place, inserting anchors through the original ISO, installing a layer of densdeck, apply the two layers of new ISO, a layer of densdeck, and finally the EPDM.  This course of action will result in a credit for the district due to eliminating the the entire roof down to the decking.  Mike will provide a estimated credit to Dean Frentz for review.

-The location of Action Roofing's crane will be placed at the front to the HS when the material for the upper roof arrives.  Mike feels this is the closest and easiest spot for his crew to work from.

-Cogenic called and stated fabrication on the new pool unit has started.  Their estimated completion date is the end of August.

- Cogenic's Certificate of Insurance is currently being reviewed by Harts Insurance for conformance.

July 3, 2013

Weather: Overcast, warm with temperatures in the low 80's, muggy with high humidity, rain in the late afternoon.

- No Mason's on site

- Roofers were on site, continued their work over the music wing.  Once row of new ISO and EPDm was installed.

July 4, 2013

- No work by either contractor

July 5, 2013

Weather: Warm and muggy with temperatures in the mid 80's.  Overcast skies with rain occurring in the mid-afternoon.

- No Mason's on site

- Roofers installed another row of EPDM over the music wing.

- A revised credit  quote was received from the Arric Corp. regarding the possible credit for asbestos abatement over the district office.  Work could be eliminated considering the new roof will encapsulate the minimal asbestos that exists.  The district will review the document and make a recommendation on what direction to proceed with.

- Clark-Patterson-Lee has provided new information on the window infills that may eliminate any change orders to modify this area.  Details on the subject will be discussed on July 8th's progress meeting.
