-The mason's agreed to remove a defective brick along the base wall to the auditorium at no extra charge.
- The mason's started replacing the defective mortar joints along the auditorium wall over the cafeteria. Several brick and mortar joints are deteriorated in this location.
- The roofers started removing the fascia metal along the music wing. The perimeter edge wood blocking has been removed as indicated in Friday's progress meeting.
- OSHA visited the site and cited Action roofing for not having their protective fencing on the upper roof over the music wing.
June 25, 2013
Weather: Overcast in the morning, muggy with temperatures in the mid 70's. The temperatures and humidity continued to rise throughout the day to just over 80 degrees.
- The remainder of damaged brick on the corner of the auditorium and cafeteria was replaced. The mason stated several brick crumbled around the defective brick they were originally attempting to replace making the location labor intensive.
- Masonry work (Replace defective mortar joints) started on the upper roof adjacent to the pool unit.
- The roofers removed the existing EPDM and insulation for the first two rows along the perimeter edge to the music wing.
- The gypsum deck was sealed, vapor barrier installed, two layers of ISO, densdeck and finally the 30-year EPDM was installed along the perimeter edge of the music wing.
- The district moved the palletized stone pavers from the roof with the tractor so demolition of the existing EPDM could commence. The stone pavers will be reinstalled along the roof perimeter once the fascia flashing is installed.
- Cogenic's Schedule of Values was reviewed and commented on to Clark-Patterson-Lee.

June 27, 2013
Weather: Overcast, hot and muggy with temperatures in the mid 80's. The forecast is severe rain storms later in the afternoon with potential flash flooding.
- No roofers on site today
- Three masons were on site today. Discussions regarding the thru-wall flashing being placed along the exterior brick wall of the pool where the window cutouts are located occurred. Approximately three rows of brick will be removed roughly 12" above the existing EPDM. New thru wall flashing will be installed on brick. A termination bar will be installed on interior CMU behind the exterior brick. Sealant will be placed above the termination bar encapsulating the seam. New weep holes will be installed directly above the thru wall flashing with new brick replacing the three courses originally removed. this will occur along the entire exterior wall of the pool and around to the auditorium air intake.
- Dean Frentz received an update on the insulation behind the brick located at the window cutouts. Currently the foam insulation board does not fill the entire window cutout leaving voids along the entire perimeter. Clark-Patterson-Lee recommends that the brick within the window cutouts be removed, insulation board be removed, and new brick reinstalled. Mike Jackson will provide pricing for this work. This item will impact the roofers within a few days since this work is adjacent to the music wing roofing currently in progress.
- Once the pricing is received, we will work with Mike to trade off any potential change order with existing work and materials eliminated from the original base bid.
- Masons continued working on mortar joints and replacing defective brick identified within the base bid. A total of 3 masons were on site today.
June 28, 2013
Weather: Overcast in the morning with temperatures around 80 degree's. rain started around 11:00am and continued on and off throughout the day.
- No roofers today
- Two mason's were on site until 11:00am. They finished cleaning the brick with muriatic acid where any brick repair occurred.
- The mason's raised concerns with the delay in the pool window cut outs redesign suggested by Clark-Patterson-Lee. Their work is slowing down in anticipation of Clark-Patterson-Lee's decision on the pool window cutouts.
- Mike Jackson indicated later in the afternoon that pricing for the pool window cutout was sent to him from the masons. Their requesting $11,000 in order to remove the existing brick in the window cutouts, remove the insulation behind the brick which Clark-Patterson-Lee believes is the problem, and reinstall new brick.
- Mike Jackson has an idea to leave the insulation in place, install thruwall flashing above the insulation, and rebrick the estimated three courses which will need to be removed for the work to occur. This would reduce the cost by approximately 50%. Since Dean Frentz is out of the office today, Mike will email Dean and Dave Walters with the idea. This subject will require a quick response since this area is impacting the masons and the roofers ability to finish off the roof.
