July 8, 2013

Weather: Over cast with temperatures reaching mid 80's

- Mason's were not on site

- Roofers continued flashing in roof top units, exhaust fans, and miscellaneous roof penetrations.  Due to the forecast, the roofers did not install new roofing considering their work is near the roof drains.

- Capital project review meeting occurred today in the district office conference room.  Details regarding the roof and potential issues were discussed in length.  Slight modifications to the base bid will be made at no additional cost to ensure work will continue in order to meet the deadline.

- The roof top stairwell will not move as indicated in the bid drawings.  Action roofing feels confident that their work can occur without any modifications.

- Thru wall flashing will be installed under the pool window infills to assist in removing any condensation between the brick and masonry wall.

- Slight changes to the pool roof will occur ultimately saving the district in project costs by utilizing the existing tectum deck.  Firestone Building products detail/submittal will be used to make the necessary roof changes.

- The Village and Town of Perry started removing the top caps to the HS retaining wall blocks.  The prisoners did not show up today.

July 9, 2013

Weather: Overcast, warmer with temperatures in the low 80's.  Rain started in the mid afternoon

-No Mason's on site

-Roofers tore out the final row of EPDM over the music wing.  This row contains all the roof drains along the outside wall to the auditorium.  The demolition of old roof, new vapor barrier, two layers of ISO, and densdeck were installed prior to the rain.  The roofers positioned the new EPDM in place when the rain started.  After 2-hours, the rain ceased and they were able to glue the membrane in place.

- Discussion occurred with Action roofing regarding the detail work still necessary for the roof penetrations listed in the Firestone detail.

-The final quotes arrived regarding the pool maintenance work (sand filter, motor, pump, solenoids, clean pool surface, etc) that will take place while Cogenic performs their work on the pool unit.  A purchase order for the winning bidder will be submitted this week.

-Arric Corp. is on site removing the ACM connected to the thru wall flashing identified on the bid drawings.  Their work for the day included the thru wall flashing to the auditorium, 2nd floor wing, and  guidance office.

- The Village & Town of Perry continued removing the retaining wall block outside the HS with the assistance of prisoners.  The block is palletized and stored outside the HS maintenance department.

July 10, 2013

Weather: Overcast, rain in the early morning with temperatures in the mid 80's

- No Mason's on site

- Roofers decided not to tear any material off due to the weather.  They did start adding perimeter edge wood blocking along the auditorium roof line.  The auditorium roof work will start by the end of next week, depending on the weather.

- Arric Corp. is on site continuing their work on removing the ACM caulk along the thru wall flashing.  They are hoping to be complete by tomorrow.

-Stohl Environmental will be on site this afternoon to perform the necessary testing due to the ACM removal.

- The Village & Town of Perry were on site removing the last of the retaining wall blocks.  All the blocks are palletized outside the HS maintenance department.

July 11, 2013

Weather: Sunny with cooler temperatures in the low 70's

- No Mason's on site

- Roofers finished the last row of EPDM over the music wing. 

- Action roofing plans on bringing in crane tomorrow to deliver four tractor trailer loads of ISO board, densdeck, and EPDM for the auditorium and pool roof.

- The Town of Perry removed some of the soil behind the removed retaining wall.

- The quote for the pool maintenance work is finalized.  The purchase order for the work will be submitted to the business office today.  The work will be completed in conjunction with the new pool unit installation.

July 12, 2013

Weather: Warm and sunny with temperatures in the low 80's.  Rain started in the mid afternoon.

- No Mason's on site

- Deliveries started to arrive for the upper roof to the auditorium and pool.   A crane was on site to place the items in their respective positions.

- Roofers continued their roofing work over the pool locker rooms.  They are formulating a plan to insert the most effective roof drain pan to remove the water from this are of the roof due to the volume of roof curbs in this location.

Weather: Hot, muggy, sunny with temperatures in the upper 80's

- No Masons on site

- Roofers started the roof over the district office storage room and corridor directly outside the district office. 

- When removing the old ISO, they found the existing insulation completely saturated with water.  Before starting their work, they permitted the gypsum deck to dry out prior to applying their primer.

- The roofers were able to completely tear off and install the new EPDM roof per the drawings all in one day for this location.

- The remainder of the delivery arrived for the upper auditorium and pool roof. 

- The termination bar over the music wing roof along the auditorium wall was installed in preparation for the flashing.
